Antonis was born in Athens and raised on Leros where he completed his education. Since 1987, he has been employed with the Hellenic Post Office. In 1990, Antonis assumed organizational responsibilities of the dance department and has been teaching dance to many groups. From 1992 to the present, he has been president of the Artemis Society and is responsible for the music section, where he had given performances as a lyra player and singer. Through the Artemis Society, has has presented traditional Greek music at European, African, American and Asian festivals. For many years, he worked with researching local music traditions, and this research has led to the release of the double CD "Songs of Leros".
