Lucy Grigoriadis
Since then, Klironomia has provided a venue for Greek
folkloric culture to be studied, developed, and practiced.
It sets the standard in Canada for the presentation and
continuation of traditional cultural inheritance, the focus
of which is an educational dance conference that takes
place every two years.
The following goals were set for Klironomia:
i) to stimulate awareness of the traditional Hellenic arts
with a focus on dance, traditional costumes, music and
instruments;
ii) to educate Hellenes of the diaspora through a forum
where information on the various vocabularies, regional
dance styles and techniques are shared and exchanged; and,
iii) to promote the Greek cultural identity through the
presentation of costumes, traditions and heritage.
Founder Lucy Grigoriadis remains as Klironomia Executive
Director, and the Executive Commitee consists of volunteers
Theodora Zafiropoulos, Despina Kaspiris, Anastasia
Veloudos, Deacon Theodore Paraskevopoulos, Gregory Carver
and Emmelia Pagidas.
